It's a homecoming for James Wilcox as he returns to ABC 6 News and southeast Minnesota. James grew up in Brownsdale and worked at ABC 6 News during high school as a production assistant. He now returns, this time in front of the camera, as co-anchor of ABC 6 News at 6:00 and 10:00.
James has worked in television news for nearly a decade. After leaving ABC 6 News, he attended St.Cloud State University, majoring in mass communications. During his time at SCSU, James anchored and reported at the campus television station. He also interned and worked at TV stations across the state including ones in St. Cloud, Rochester, and Minneapolis.
After college, James packed his bags and headed east. For 2 years, his alarm went off at 3:00 A.M. He anchored the morning news for a CBS station in Upstate New York. From there, James moved to the Cornhusker state and enjoyed the chance to sleep in. He served as the main anchor for the NBC station in Hastings, Nebraska.
James is an award winning journalist. He's been honored by the Associated Press in both Nebraska and New York. He's also received a national Telly Award for his work in college encouraging students to vote.
James is thrilled to be home, and would love to hear any feedback or story ideas.
