(ABC 6 NEWS) - In Passport: Mankato, we show you hidden gems around the Mankato area and all the fun that is to be had outdoors.

"So few people know that something like this is available to them," says Seth Yocum of Bent River Outfitters.

For several years, the guys at Bent River Outfitters have been showing friends and family around the area for fun.  Now, they have turned that passion into a business.

They rent canoes and kayaks to visitors and also give tours.

"Just to be able to share that with people and watch their eyes light up, that's what we're really all about," Yocum says.

They took me on a jet boat for a glimpse at what the Blue Earth River has to offer.

"It's never the same thing twice. Whether it's the animals you're seeing, or the time of the day and the lighting, or simply the geographic changes from the water moving the rocks and sediment around," Yocum says.

On the outskirts of Mankato is Minneopa State Park.  It is home to the largest waterfall in southern Minnesota.
