Kenny joined the ABC 6 News Good Morning team in December 2011. He grew up in Minnesota, and is really enjoying getting to know the southeastern part of the state.
Kenny was born in a Chicago suburb; his family moved to Willmar, Minnesota when he was four years old. After graduating from Willmar High School (go Cardinals!), Kenny went to the University of Northwestern – St. Paul (formerly Northwestern College) where he majored in Broadcasting and Electronic Media. During college, Kenny was broadcasting on the campus television and radio stations; he also had internships at KING-TV in Seattle and at KARE-11 in Minneapolis.
After graduation, Kenny got a job as a reporter at KSAX-TV in Alexandria, Minnesota. After a few months of reporting and fill-in anchoring, he began anchoring the 5 and 6 p.m. newscasts full time.
When Kenny's not working, he enjoys running, traveling, eating, writing, watching television series and movies, and spending time with friends and family.
Fun facts: Kenny has completed a few marathons. Kenny has a twin brother who lives in Minneapolis. Kenny is the fourth generation "Kenny" in the King family.
