Chelsea Burn joined ABC 6 News in May 2012.
Chelsea attended the University of Iowa and graduated with a double major in Journalism and Mass Communication and Health and Sports Studies. After completing a semester long video project on three former Iowa football players, Chelsea graduated from the School of Journalism with honors.
This is Chelsea first full-time job but she has been working with sports broadcasting since high school. She reported on her high school football and basketball teams for the ESPN radio her senior year and immediately got involved with the Daily Iowan TV station as a freshman at Iowa. She worked there all four years, including as the sports director her junior year of college. She also had internships at KARE-11 in Minneapolis, KGAN in Cedar Rapids, and the MLB Network in New Jersey.
Chelsea's best memory so far of working in sports is getting to be a field runner at the 2011 World Series in St. Louis. She is looking forward to creating more of those great memories here in southern Minnesota, and to get the chance to tell the amazing stories of the athletes here. She thinks the best part of the job is seeing the love so many have for sports. Chelsea is a huge Twins fan and will probably be seen wearing Hawkeye gear every Saturday in the fall.
Chelsea was born and raised in Peoria, Illinois. Her family moved to Minneapolis in the summer of 2011, before her final year of college. She has a younger brother, Carter, who is still in high school and loves that she is close enough now to go home and pick on him all the time.
