The Minneapolis Park and Recreation board is looking to make upgrades to the area between the northeast side of Lake Calhoun and Lake of the Isles in the Uptown neighborhood.

The board is holding open houses where all suggestions are welcome.  The first open house is Tuesday at 7 p.m. at Mozaic, 1350 Lagoon Avenue in Minneapolis.  The public can submit its suggestions at that meeting. A second open house is set for Saturday, Oct. 13 at 9 a.m. at the same location.  Ideas from the first open house will be presented to the public.

With the area around the Tin Fish restaurant being so popular in the summer, there is a growing issue of congestion around the restaurant. It is clogged with bicyclists, walkers, boaters as well as restaurant customers.

The park board wants to look at safety in that area as well as the parking shortage.  There is also the search for a solution of how to connect Lake Calhoun to Lake of the Isles and the Midtown Greenway despite all the congestion on Lake Street in that area.
