(ABC 6 News) - An Oronoco woman was assaulted Friday morning after honking at a car in front of her in the McDonald’s drive thru line.

Police say it happened around 8:50 am when the 48-year-old Oronoco woman stopped to get a coffee at the 55th Street NW McDonalds. Police say the woman honked at a vehicle in front of her that was taking up both lanes of the drive thru. After pulling forward, a 43-year-old Rochester man got out of his vehicle and allegedly punched the Oronoco woman in her face through her open window.

Police say the woman attempted to call 911, but the attacker knocked her phone out of her hand and punched her again.  Several people claim to have witnessed the incident.

Rochester police eventually arrested the man, who was booked and released on Monday. The suspect is expected to be charged with assault and interference with a 911 call, but has yet to be officially charged.

The victim did not have any serious injuries.
