(ABC 6 News) -- An effort to relocate a teenage murder suspect is being fought by his lawyers.
14-year-old Noah Crooks has been in custody at a juvenile facility in Waterloo since the death of his mother Gretchen earlier this year.
Crooks faces felony charges of 1st degree murder and assault with intent to commit sexual abuse. Authorities say he shot her nearly two dozen times at their rural Osage home. He recently plead not guilty in court on reason of insanity.
The prosecution filed a motion to relocate Noah to the Mitchell County Jail, Something his lawyers tell ABC 6, they are fighting.
