(ABC 6 News) -- After a vote 4-to-3 by Austin City Council, the Frank Lloyd Wright home in Austin will be turned into a bed and breakfast.
The owner of this historic home, Peter Plunkett, will turn part of the home into a guest house. This is something he feels will bring more tourism to Austin.
Though not everyone was on board with the idea, 35 neighbors in the area filed a petition against it, saying it's a very quiet and private neighborhood, and this would disrupt that.
Though Plunkett feels differently, he says he hopes to meet them halfway. "The people are coming to the house to look at a Frank Lloyd Wright house, not to look across the lawns, but I can certainly fix the hedge, or add to the hedge, or do something to the fence to ameliorate these concerns," said Plunkett.
He says they've got a long way to go before the guest house is open, he's hoping for next summer.
