MASON CITY, Iowa (AP) - A former Mason City police officer who has been trying to get back her job has dropped the lawsuit she'd filed against the city Civil Service Commission.
Maria Ohl was fired last year. Officials say she'd mishandled information in the abduction of a Mason City television anchor in 1995 and that she'd violated several department policies.
Her firing was upheld by the commission, and Ohl took the matter to Cerro Gordo County District Court.
The Mason City Globe Gazette reports (http://bit.ly/PZNGy5 ) that a court document filed earlier this week said the case was dismissed at her request.
