Five People Injured in Car Accident on Highway 52

(ABC 6 News) -- One person was transported by Mayo One after a two-vehicle car crash on Highway 52 at Marion Rd.

It happened around 5:30 Sunday evening.

According to the state patrol, both cars were southbound on 52, when they were approaching the spot where the 4-lane highway turned into a 2-lane highway. The cars lost control and collided.

Five people were injured in the crash; one is in critical condition.

The crash shut down highway 52, but it is now reopen.

Authorities say speed was a factor.
