(ABC 6 NEWS) -- New developments today in a weekend shooting in our area that sent five people to the hospital.

And even though authorities have been stone-walled in their investigation of a Sunday morning shooting at the old Lansing Corners Supper Club, we're starting to get a picture of what happened.

"There are several gangs that are involved in this situation," Mower County Sheriff Terese Amazi told us

And that could explain why many of the people who were are telling investigators they don't know anything.

"People are afraid to talk to us in fear of retaliation," Amazi said.

But Sheriff Terese Amazi said the investigation has yielded some evidence, "Bullet casings as well as bullets that were removed from individuals that had been shot, and we did recover a handgun," and some possible leads.

"We also have some information on potential suspects as well as the shooter, so we'll go from there and keep trying to build a case" Amazi said.

But because of possible gang ties, Amazi says, “We do believe that there will be some sort of retaliation. Where that might take place we do not know at this time."

Saturday night's hip-hop event was advertised on Facebook.

"When those things are put out there, the invitation com everybody, those are the situations we have found in the past that really lead to the violent confrontations" Amazi explained. “We do believe still this was an isolated incident that is confined to this group, certainly some people that were at the event were caught in the middle."

Investigators tell us a South Dakota man who was shot early Sunday is out of the hospital now, and all five victims are improving.

No arrests have been made.
