(ABC 6 News) -- One man is in custody after police say he robbed a Blooming Prairie convenience store worker at gun point.

Police say they responded to an armed robbery in progress at the Casey’s General Store at approximately 1:05 a.m. Saturday. Police were able to respond thirty seconds after the alarm, but the suspect was gone, and an employee said she had been robbed at gun point.

There were three employees in the store at the time of the robbery. The suspect was wearing a mask, but one of the employees was able to identify him because she knew him.

Several local agencies were called into help including Sheriff’s Office’s in Steele, Mower, Freeborn, and Dodge counties as well as the Minnesota State Patrol and the Owatonna Police Department.

Around 15 officers then set up a perimeter around the store, but were not able to locate the suspect. Police say they have dealt with the suspect in the past and went to a home in the 300 block of 1st Street Southwest where he spends a lot of time. After talking with the homeowner, they were able to search the home where they found the suspect.

“He played like he didn’t know what was going on. We were immediately able to find on the floor of the residence clothing that matched the description of the video and what the clerk had given us at the time of the robbery,” said Officer Jacob Peterson of the Blooming Prairie Police Department.

Police were able to find the firearm that was used during the robbery. None of the employees were hurt and the suspect was not able to get any cash because the registers were locked. Police say the suspect will be in court Monday.
