(ABC 6 News) -- While some traveled to get a good meal, others stayed in town. In Austin, Thanksgiving was in full swing at the Salvation Army.
Around 80 people showed up to share a free meal at the city's Salvation Army. After a short prayer of thanks, people lined up to get a helping of their favorite foods.
A dozen volunteers helped serve the classic Thanksgiving dishes.
Salvation Army Lieutenant David Amick says he's always happy to give back. "There's a lot of stress on the holidays as it is so what we'd like to take one added stress off their no pun intended un and put something good on their plate." said Lt. Amick.
The group also made and delivered 15 meals for those in need.
