Nick Brady and Haile Kifer should not have been at Byron Smith's house, but friends say they did not deserve such violent consequences.

Friends say Kifer was an accomplished diver and gymnist.  Monday morning friends from her gymnastics program made pink T-shirts in her honor.

"She was my favorite role model in gymnastics," said Stephanie Cluver.

They say Nick was a joker with a contagious smile.

"He was the funniest dude I ever knew.  He was the nicest guy I ever met," said Rachel Huber.

The Little Falls School District had grief counselors on hand all day Monday and will make them available throughout the week. Many of the students there knew the two cousins:  Haile was a senior in the district's alternative program.  Nick had recently transferred to a nearby district.
