(ABC 6 News) -- Businesses everywhere are using social media to help out their business, and the popularity of using things like facebook and twitter is growing. One local woman is getting in on the trend, and taking to the web to promote her crochet business.

Dick and Rosie Hagelund have been married for nearly 44 years... But Dick isn't the only love in Rosie's life. She also loves to crochet.

"I always said that when I leave this life, my crochet hook and skein of yarn needs to go with me," said Rosie.

It started about 35 years ago, as a way to make some extra cash on the side. Now, Rosie's crocheting has grown into a booming home business.

"Its been just one thing after another, always thinking of things to create. My hands are always busy," she said.

Now, with the help of Dick and facebook, Rosie is busier than ever.

"I thought, well, lets put your stuff on facebook and just see what kind of reactions we get. We've gotten excellent reactions," said Dick.

"I still don't use the computer as much as he does. He's my promoter," said Rosie.

"As her promoter and manager, you know, I want a raise," joked Dick.

With the orders pouring in, there's no doubt that Rosie won't be taking a break any time soon.

"I'm very proud of what she does. I'm proud of her, and what she does," said Dick.

"It's been one thing after another. And it's been a great trip," said Rosie.

Rosie says crocheting is a form of therapy for her. She was diagnosed with MS about thirty years ago. If you're interested in Rosie's crocheting, you can contact her: 641-832-8632 or farmer300856@gmail.com
