(ABC 6 News) - The Olmsted County Sheriff’s Department has arrested two people in connection with copper thefts.
Michael Thanghe and Amber Janovski, both of Faribault, were arrested after deputies found them at a People’s Co-Op sub-station in Eyota.
Authorities say more than $2,000 dollars worth of copper wire was found in their vehicle.
Thanghe allegedly told officers he was stealing the copper because he had a severe addiction to meth.
A crime alert had been put out on the two suspects due to an incident at a recycling center in Lakeville earlier this month.
Both Thanghe and Janovski are facing charges of 1st degree damage to property.
