(ABC 6 News) - Time is running out for consumers and businesses in Minnesota and Iowa who may be entitled to a cash refund from a billion dollar settlement fund involving LCD flat screens.
The fund is made up of settlements with ten manufacturers of LCD flat panels over an illegal conspiracy to raise the price of LCD screens used in televisions, monitors and laptop computers.
Eligible consumers could collect $25, $100, $200 or more depending upon the number of televisions, monitors, and laptop computers purchased. But the deadline to take advantage of the refunds is Thursday, December 6th.
The flat screens in question were sold from 1999 to 2006 and were manufactured by AU Optronics, Hitachi, Sharp, Toshiba, Samsung, Epson, LG, Chunghwa Picture Tubes, HannStar Display and Chi Mei Optoelectronics.
