__ (ABC 6 News) -- Amy Oldham is a speech pathologist with the Rochester School District.
"We see kids that aren't able to communicate and so then they communicate a different way through behaviors," says Oldham.
All schools in the district have a speech pathologist on site, but Amy is one of few who are dedicated to early childhood kids.
"Early intervention is really important," she says, "I have kids that maybe don't have words yet and a vocabulary and I teach them to communicate by therapy and play."
And after 16 years, she hasn't missed a beat.
"My job as a speech pathologist is to give kids a voice to teach them how to talk and share and communicate with our world."
