(ABC 6 NEWS) -- If you did any Cyber Monday shopping, you might want to check your mailbox for those packages.
The holiday shopping season is in full swing, and now so is the holiday shipping season.
"we love it. It's a busy time of year, but its actually a challenge every year. We look forward to it," said Tom Richard, with FedEx.
Monday was FedEx's busiest day of the year for deliveries. The company predicts 19 million packages will be sent around the world in just 24 hours. One reason for the increase is Cyber Monday.
"A lot of shoppers are shopping online this time of year, and its kind of our peak day for our whole corporation as a whole," said Richard.
Each day, packages that are being sent to Rochester, Mason City, and Lacrosse are delivered to the Rochester location via airplane. They are then sorted, put on trucks, and sent out to your home or business.
And while Monday may be the peak day, things won't be slowing down between now and Christmas.
"We don't allow vacation time of year. It's all hands on deck and we just know that we're gonna work longer days, do whatever it takes to get the job done," said Richard.
They are making sure your packages make it to your front door, just in time for the holidays.
The company expects to see more than 280 million shipments pass through its shipping networks during the holiday season.
