(ABC 6 NEWS) -- A former Forest City police officer was sentenced to 10 years in prison Tuesday after being convicted last month of burglary and arson.

A judge in Winnebego County District Court sentenced Thaddeus Ellenbecker to 10 years on each count, however, he'll serve the sentences at the same time.

Ellenbecker was found guilty of setting fire to the police station in Forest City and of stealing a rifle from a police car.

You may remember, Ellenbecker was shot by a state investigator who was looking into the crimes. That officer was later cleared.
