MASON CITY, Iowa (AP) - A Davenport woman who fled police in a stolen car with four children inside has been sentenced to 30 days in jail and probation.
The Mason City Globe Gazette reports (http://bit.ly/TcFjgw) that 22-year-old Alexis Nicole Robinson was sentenced Monday in a Cerro Gordo County court.
Sheriff's deputies say Robinson fled when police tried to stop her in August. Deputies discovered the car was stolen and gave chase. Authorities say Robinson twice rammed patrol cars in her attempt to get away.
Four children, ages of 1 to 4, were in the car during the chase. No one was injured.
Robinson had been charged with car theft, child endangerment and other counts. In a deal with prosecutors, Robinson pleaded guilty to a misdemeanor count of driving a car without the owner's consent.
