(ABC 6 NEWS) -- Home for the holidays is a phrase you hear quiet often around this time, with everyone returning to their roots to celebrate with family and friends; and that makes the perfect opportunity for a little hockey reunion.
The Austin Packers held their annual alumni hockey game Sunday afternoon at Riverside.
Former Packer players got together to catch up, swap stories, and of course play hockey.
It's a tradition that lets some relive the past.
"For me it's brings back the glory days of when we were in high school," says Asham Bell, a Packer player from 1999-2001. "I was part of the 2001 team that went to state, which is a pretty big part of Austin High."
The current Packer hockey captains and their parents organize the game each year. It's a great way for old friends to bond again through the sport.
