Public safety officials say more than 2,000 impaired drivers were arrested during a DWI crackdown in Minnesota last month.

According to preliminary reports, Minnesota law agencies arrested 2,551 drivers in December as part of a statewide "Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over" DWI enforcement campaign.

A similar DWI crackdown in December 2011 resulted in 2,600 DWI arrests.

The Minnesota State Patrol reports 0.47 percent was the highest alcohol concentration found in the state during the campaign. The legal limit is 0.08 percent.
