(ABC 6 NEWS) -- Dodge County senior captain Bryan Knesel recently went above and beyond what is expected of most leaders.
Knesel went to the Dodge County Booster Club with a proposal to donate all gate fees from a game to the Eagles' Cancer Telethon. His grandfather was recently diagnosed with cancer and wanted to find some way to give back.
It's not everyday you see something like that from a high school kid, and speaks volumes about Bryan.
"It was really a great feeling know that one of my senior captains did this all on his own without asking any question," said head coach Eric Hofmann. "It really make me feel good as a coach that I have these kinds of kids on my team."
The game will be played at the Dodge county ice arena in Kasson this Thursday at 7pm.
"I'm just hoping we pack the stands here and raise a good amount of money," said Knesel. "It's for a great cause."
