(ABC 6 NEWS) -- One person has died after an apartment fire Tuesday morning in Rochester.

Firefighters responded to the call just before 4:00 a.m. at Mile Manor Apartments in the northwest part of the city.

The Rochester Fire Department says one person died before crews arrived.

That person's name will not be released until the family is notified.

The fire department says three other people were trapped in a next door apartment. Two were rescued by fire fighters using a ladder. The third person, who is a juvenile, lowered themselves from a balcony. The rest of the building was temporarily evacuated.

The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
