CHARLES CITY, Iowa (AP) - Court records say a police officer in northern Iowa choked a victim.
The Mason City Globe Gazette (http://bit.ly/XJSMLw) reports James Gray Jr. is accused of child endangerment in connection with a Thursday incident. He was arrested Friday.
Floyd County District Court records say Gray threw his victim onto a bed and choked him, leaving a red mark on the victim's neck and under his left eye. It's unclear the victim's age or how Gray knows him.
The 43-year-old Gray is a Nora Springs police officer and was off duty at the time. He is being held at the Floyd County Jail on $5,000 bond. A preliminary hearing is set for early February.
No decision has been made about Gray's employment status. Online records do not list an attorney for him.
