Okay folks, you can put down your shovels and stop searching for the Winter Carnival Medallion.
This year's Pioneer Press Treasure Hunt in St. Paul is over.
The winners, a couple from St. Paul, are now $10,000 richer, and they have a pretty good story to go along with it.
They had only been out for 5 minutes Wednesday morning when they came across the medallion. They think someone else might have come across it but accidentally tossed it aside without knowing. It was found in the southern tip of Cherokee Heights Park.
Lynn Olson-Tuma, who found it with her husband Scot Tuma, says the money will be put to good use.
"I need medication, I have late stage Lyme disease, so some of my meds aren't covered my insurance, so some of it's going to go towards that," said Olson-Tuma.
Even though Lynn spent just five minutes today and a couple of days last week, her family has been searching for the medallion for decades, starting with her grandmother when the contest first started.
