"I want everybody to know, it’s a terrible tragedy,” says Kelly Seberson of Oakland, MN.
The coffee cups are still full in the kitchen of what was the scene of a homicide investigation less than 24 hours before in Austin. Police tell ABC 6 News they got a call from a neighbor around 3 o'clock Friday morning who heard screaming and saw a man lying outside the home at 510 4th Street NW.
Seberson says his dad, Dennis Seberson, 86, was the victim and that his brother Craig Seberson, 46, was the suspect who led police on a high speed chase to Waseca and later died when he was ejected from his car on Highway 13 near Waseca.
“It’s very difficult. It’s hard to come here, you lose your brother and your dad at the same time. Very difficult, but we love them very much,” he says.
Seberson says police aren’t giving him too many details on how his father was killed, but said his brother, who was living in Meservey, Iowa, suffered from mental illness.
“It was more of a domestic I think than anything else," says Seberson. "And it just shows the real need for good mental health care in the area.”
Seberson says his dad’s death is a loss to the family and the community of Austin.
“My dad was the greatest guy in the world. He took care of everybody that he ever met and I’m very sorry for my brother and of course we do forgive him as would my parents,” he says.
