(ABC 6 News) -- A women was sent to the hospital this afternoon after her car was hit by a train.
Just before 3:00, the accident happened at Dodge County Road H, in Dodge Center. The Hayfield women began to cross the tracks and was hit by the west bound train. There was no one else in the vehicle which was pushed into the ditch.
"It sounded like she stopped at the stop sign and started inching her way out and apparently didn't see the train," said Dodge County Sheriff Jim Jensen.
The women got out of her vehicle on her own but was transported to St. Marys in Rochester. This comes as MNdot officials are urging safety at railroad crossings with the recent snow and icy conditions.
