 (ABC 6 News) --From photography to drawing, Lisa Beschnett teaches it all at Austin High School.

She is one of three art teachers there. "I really love it when I see a light bulb go on, and so that's what keeps you going when you see it go on and you say yes, that's why I do what I do."

Lisa says art is beautiful because it gives each person the freedom of creativity.

"I think the kids get blown away by what they find they can create," says Beschnett, "so much of education focuses on the left side of the brain, the facts, the language, the right side, that's creation and our future is based on innovation."

Something she fears education may be moving away from with budget cuts to departments like art and music.

"It makes me really sad when we take the hit, that's what we need to survive and grow as a country in the future."
