A woman from Minneapolis received the prestigious Presidential Citizen's Medal for her service in the community Friday.
"She does more by 12 o'clock in the afternoon than most do in their life for people, and she does that every day," said Rob Wills, who has worked for Copeland for 15 years. "It's not a job for her, it's her calling."
The Mary's Place Transitional Shelter houses 500 people each night, with nearly 450 of those being children.
