Overnight snow into this morning dumped 4" to 9" of snow across the area. For some, it was the highest amounts seen in years. Officially at Rochester International Airport, 7.2" of snow fell with this storm, the highest amount from any one storm since 16" fell on December 10th & 11th, 2010.
Generally 6 to 8" with isolated higher amounts fell in southeast Minnesota with some of the spots seeing higher amounts being Albert Lea, Owatonna, Claremont, Kasson and Mantorville. Lighter amounts were scattered across north Iowa. A slight shift northward in the storm track overnight brought the higher totals northward. In north, Iowa a fetch of drier air kept snow intensity down and therefore snow accumulation.
Light snow/flurries will continue through Friday evening. Any additional accumulation will remain minor.
