(ABC 6 News) - Austin police say a Friday afternoon fight involving more than half a dozen teenagers could be related to a fight that sent a man to the hospital two nights earlier.
As we reported on Friday, police were called to the area near the Austin Public Library around 3:15 Friday afternoon on reports of a fight.
A 17-year-old boy said he was knocked to the ground and kicked several times by a group of at least six others. And he claimed he didn’t know why he was targeted. He suffered bumps and scrapes, but declined medical attention.
Police interviewed the six suspects who range in age from 13 to 19 and forwarded the information to the county attorney’s office for possible charges. Investigators say the fight might be related to a fight in the 1200 block of Oakland Place southeast on Thursday night.
That incident sent a teenager to the hospital for head trauma and led to the arrests of three men, ages 19, 22 and 26.
Both cases remain under investigation.
