Part of the Hiawatha Light Rail Line is back up and running after it was shut down for four hours Thursday morning.
A crane at a construction site near the Nicollet Mall Station at 5th and Nicollet hit the overhead power system damaging a support piece around 8:30 a.m., according to Metro Transit.
No one was hurt in the incident.
The incident left the downtown area trains with no power. Repairs were made and power was restored around 12:45 p.m.
"We anticipate trains
to be fully back on schedule for the evening commute," said Metro Transit spokesman John Siqveland.
Buses were brought in to operate between Target Field and Metrodome/Downtown East stations for light rail passengers.
A detour was also in place for traffic and buses running on Marquette Ave. during the repair.
