(ABC 6 NEWS) -- The State Patrol says three cars were involved in a crash near Brownsdale that caused minor injuries.
It happened around 6:45 p.m. Thursday night on Highway 56 a half mile north of Interstate 90. Authorities say two cars were traveling northbound when a southbound car lost control and sideswiped one of them. That car then hit the third.
Road conditions at the time were dry.
According to a State Patrol report it was a vehicle driven by Gerald Clark, 59, of Glenville, that first caused the crash.
Clark's vehicle is believed to have sideswiped the car of Alan E Smith, 59, of Brownsdale. Both Smith and Clark were taken to Mayo Clinic Health System Austin and treated for minor injuries.
The third vehicle's driver, Raughn Oakland, 51, of Brownsdale was not injured.
According to the State Patrol report, alcohol was detected on both Clark and Raughn. We should note it is not immediately clear if either field tested for an amount above the legal 0.08 limit.
All three drivers were wearing their seatbelt. One of the vehicles is considered a total loss.
