(ABC 6 NEWS) -- For over thirty years, Ivan Kroulik has been a staple on the Kasson-Mantorville football sidelines, but starting next year, someone else will be taking the reins.
Kroulik announced Moday that he has decided to resign.
Coach Kroulik said it was simply time to hand it over to someone else. After thirty plus years, he wants to trade his sneakers for slippers, as his wife put it.
Kroulik has a winning record in his tenure as head coach at K-M. As one might expect, this decision was anything but easy.
“It was very hard when you do anything for that long,” said Kroulik. “I don’t know what fall is like without football, it’s been a long time. So before I hit the send button to the superintendent I had to ask myself, ‘is this really what I want.’ I just don’t think I can put in the time anymore.”
