Texas Man In Custody Following Altercation in Albert Lea

(ABC 6 NEWS) -- A Texas man is in custody after police say he fired shots during an altercation with his brother in Albert Lea late Sunday night.

Officers responded to the area of High Street/Valley Ave in Albert Lea for a shots fired complaint.

When police arrived, two men were taken into custody, and two handguns were found.

41-year-old Samuel Vallejo of Harker Heights, TX was arrested and is charged with 2nd  degree assault, reckless discharge of a firearm, and attempted 2nd degree murder.

The second individual was released.

Police say Vallejo and his brother got into an altercation while in town for a family event.

The altercation escalated while they were outside the residence at 802 Valley Avenue, resulting with a shot being fired from a handgun.

No injuries were reported as a result of the gunfire.
