(ABC 6 NEWS) -- Brenda L. asked, "With giving them the power of eminent domain, what places do they plan to take over?"
We turned to Rochester City Administrator Steven Kvenvold who said,"At this point in time there aren't any plans.. And so there's no knowledge about whatever this authority may do in terms of any eminent domain. But the eminent domain laws are fairly restrictive. They can only be used for a public purpose. They can't be used for economic development purposes, meaning that the authority will not be able to purchase some land from one entity and give it to another for terms of, for some economic development project. So it's fairly limited..
