(ABC 6 NEWS)--Senator Franken was in Austin today, talking about Immigration Reform. He held a private meeting with people from our area. Franken says the group gave input about the current Immigration Bill, on everything from healthcare to the Dream Act, and pointed out certain areas they would like fixed.
Franken says, "What was good about this process is it has allowed us to look at things in our immigration system that was broken and fix them. Has nothing to do with ideology, just what needs to be fixed." Senator Franken also says that keeping the gang of 8 together is an important piece of having Immigration Reform passed.
Franken also made a stop in Rochester today to be the keynote speaker at the Military Sisterhood meeting of the Southeast Minnesota "Beyond the Yellow Ribbon" Chapter.
