(ABC 6 NEWS) -- All across the area, people are cleaning up after last week's snow storm. That includes some homeowners who have been busy drying out their basements.

"I went down to the basement. I started walking in the living room, and squish squish under my feet, you know, water coming over my toes," said Jeremy Fylling. He came home to quite the mess after being gone for the weekend.

"TV, entertainment center, arcade machine, all kinds of stuff down there. All of it had to come out," said Fylling.

After trying a few things on his own, he decided he needed to call in the experts.

"I called around, and I must not be the only one, because a lot of places were booked," said Fylling.

Jeremy's not the only one. Mike Thompson, with America's Best Cleaning and Restoration Services, is helping Jeremy get his basement dried out. He says the calls have been pouring in over the past few days.

"It's been incredible. We get four to five a week, we've been getting ten a day, fifteen a day," said Thompson.

It all started as soon as the snow started melting.

"All the water just melted so fast from the last snowfall that there's nowhere for it to go, so it's coming up through the concrete through the block," said Thompson.

And Jeremy says he'll be looking at ways to prevent messes like this in the future.

"The next step is to look around, get somebody to come out and see if they can determine if I have cracks in my foundation or if I need to do landscaping to run the water off to a better location. I don't know, I'm at a loss right now."
