MASON CITY, Iowa (AP) - Jury selection has begun in the murder trial of a Mason City man accused of strangling a woman to death.
The Mason City Globe Gazette reports a panel of 32 potential jurors was called Monday in Cerro Gordo County District Court from a pool of more than 50 people.
Aaron Harris is charged with first-degree murder in the July 2012 death of 40-year-old Sarah Winters, of Mason City. She was found in an apartment building.
The 36-year-old Harris has pleaded not guilty. He is being held in the Cerro Gordo County Jail under $200,000 cash-only bond.
