(ABC 6 NEWS) -- An Austin native battling a rare T-cell disorder is closer to getting the medication he needs after it was taken off the market.
Mark Cavanaugh has been battling the disorder for five years. The drug that finally began helping him was taken off the market and re-purposed. Mark couldn't get it because its manufacturer feared a negative reaction. Tonight, we learned the drug maker has decided to give the meds to mark on a "compassionate" basis. The move needs to first be reviewed by Mayo Clinic. It is unclear when that will happen.
