Crews will be making repairs to the Stillwater Lift Bridge after a cable snapped as it was being lowered Sunday night.
The Minnesota Department of Transportation tells KSTP the cable snapped as the bridge was being lowered around 8 p.m.
The bridge is closed to bigger boats because it can't be raised.
MnDOT says the bridge will be in the down position until further notice. If everything goes as planned, they hope the fix will take about one week.
Initially MnDOT thought the bridge would be open by noon Monday.
This has not impacted vehicle traffic on the bridge.
MnDOT says workers will be able to repair the cable without interfering with road traffic.
