(ABC 6 NEWS) – A motorcyclist, and passenger, died in an accident with another vehicle in Goodhue County.
The Goodhue County Sheriff’s Office received a report of a car versus motorcycle accident on Wednesday around 2:30 p.m at the intersection of County Roads 9 and 1 in Leon Township.
A motorcycle driven by 57-year-old Michael Forte of Rosemount, with passenger, 43-year-old Jilleen Comstock of Apple Valley was westbound on County Road 9 when it was struck by a passenger car driven by Kevin Kohn of Kenyon.
Kohn had stopped at the stop sign and then proceeded through the intersection, not seeing the motorcycle. Forte and Comstock were thrown from the motorcycle and were not wearing helmets.
The empty motorcycle and passenger car then struck a dump truck that was stopped southbound on County Road 1 at the intersection. Forte and Comstock were pronounced dead at the scene.
Kohn and Hernke were not injured. Alcohol was not a factor in the crash.
