(ABC 6 News)-- The storm early Saturday morning caused a lot of damage in our area with reports of flooding, downed trees and even possible lightning strikes.
In Rochester, there were reports of two large trees down in Northwest Rochester and even a shed blown off the foundation. There were also reports of power outages. People’s Co-op says about 95 customers lost power, but all have been restored.
The corner of a house in Northeast Rochester started on fire around 3 a.m. Saturday morning because of a possible lightning strike.
"Kaboom! A giant explosion happened. About 50 feet out for the road and it almost threw me back. I'm surprised all the windows weren't shattered,” said homeowner, Greg Klinkhammer.
In Albert Lea, three inches of rain fell in just three hours causing flash flooding. Several roads were covered with water including Lincoln Avenue in Albert Lea. There was flooding at Fountain Lake, making for a fun time, but also causing concern. Crews were out sandbagging and police reminding people to be prepared and cautious.
