(ABC 6 News) -- Governor Mark Dayton was in Rochester at Mayo Clinic this week for his hips.
Dayton canceled a scheduled appearance Wednesday morning after experiencing discomfort. Members of Dayton's staff say 66-year-old Dayton injured a hip muscle over the weekend and was checked out at Mayo Clinic on Monday.
Doctors found he had a hip-muscle tear and prescribed physical therapy. However, the governor was still experiencing discomfort.
You may remember, last winter Governor Dayton underwent spinal surgery at Mayo Clinic to relieve back pain.
His staff says he will try to keep a public schedule and will keep up with his workload even if he's not at the capitol.
