(ABC 6 News)-- Much of the Freedomfest activities wrapped up in Austin. But, today more than 100 bikers from across the state came out for the annual Dan Ulwelling 25 mile bike race.
This bike race has been a part of Freedomfest for decades, but was renamed in memory of Dan Ulwelling.
He's a local man who had a passion for getting people on bikes through his local shop Rydjor Bike.
He lost his battle with cancer seven years ago.
Dan's son Zak says, "A lot of these guys bought bikes form him and showed support to the shop and you know he would be happy to see everybody still out and still enjoying bikes. That was a passion for him from guys who want to ride fast and race to guys who want to use the paths in town, he really pushed for getting people on bikes."
Racers as well as social riders were welcome today.
