An overnight shooting killed one man and injured another in South Minneapolis.
Police say the shooting happened on the 3600 block of Columbus Avenue around 11:15 p.m.
At this point, no suspects have been arrested, but police say the public is not in danger.
Anyone with information is asked to call the Minneapolis Police Tip Line at 612-692-8477.
The homicide is the fifth of the year in the third precinct and the 16th in all of Minneapolis. More violence happened in the same neighborhood less than a month ago; this latest homicide is about one block away from the city’s 12th homicide of the year, which happened June 17 when 35-year-old Daniel Maniece was killed in a shooting on the 3500 block of Chicago Avenue South.
At this time last year, there had been two homicides in the third precinct and 14 citywide.
