(ABC 6 News) - The Bloomington bomb squad was called in Wednesday morning after a Dodge Center man claimed he was going to blow himself up.
According to the Rochester Police Department the incident started when the man showed up to an old job site he no longer worked at. The man then told the workers there he had dynamite and was going to use it to blow himself up.
The man left the scene and a worker called 9-1-1.
Police eventually located the vehicle and found what looked like a stick of dynamite.
Police say the stick was obviously stable since there was no blasting device present. The Bloomington bomb squad was called in to investigate the item.
The male who threatened to use the dynamite was taken to St. Marys for mental health reasons.
No criminal charges have been filed. The bomb squad is going to test if the item is actual dynamite. If it is in fact an explosive device, charges may be filed.
