(ABC 6 News) -- The Peace Plaza in downtown Rochester is full of color today as hundreds make it out for the big Pridefest celebration.
More than 40 local vendors set up booths and the crowds were entertained by belly dancers and drag queens. Pridefest is held every year in Rochester, but those involved say this year has been the biggest yet, since they have something major to celebrate, the passage of gay marriage in Minnesota.
"It's really amazing, it's thrilling. We actually wanted to celebrate by putting a whole week of events together, so we actually started on Monday and this is the end, the grand finale of the week," said Vangie Castro, organizer of the event.
The celebrations are wrap up by 6pm tonight. Those involved hope the celebration continues to grow each year.
